DESCRIPTION: The Bosnian beech (Fagus sylvatica var. orientalis), also known as the oriental beech or simply beech, is a majestic tree native to southeastern Europe, particularly in the Balkans, Anatolia, the Caucasus, and parts of the Middle East. It is a subspecies of the common beech (Fagus sylvatica) and has some distinctive features. The wood of the Bosnian beech is hard, durable, and fine-grained, with a light color. It is widely used in the construction industry, as well as for manufacturing furniture, flooring, and wooden utensils. The wood is easy to work with and highly valued in carpentry and cabinetry.
